Karaincir

Karaincir, Bodrum's most beautiful beach…

If you are looking for the most beautiful and fine sandy beach of Bodrum you should visit Karaincir. It is thought that the town was called Karaincir because a large number of fig trees were grown in the past here. Since it is surrounded by hills on both sides, its secluded, sandy beach, closed to the north winds, is one of the most important features of Karaincir. Two large hotels (Kefaluka, Xanadu) nearby and restaurants of various sizes add liveliness to the town, which has many holiday resorts around it.

The Yassiada Shipwreck, which is also on display at the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archeology, was excavated from the nearby Yassiada island in Karaincir. Many large and small islands here are important diving spots for divers and attract the attention of underwater archaeologists.

Transportation:

If you’re driving, you can reach Karaincir by a half-hour journey from Bodrum Center. By public transport you can reach Karaincir after a 45–50-minute journey by using Akyarlar minibuses from Bodrum Center.
