One of the names associated with Bodrum is Zeki Muren, the unforgettable name of Turkish Classical Music. Zeki Muren, who frequently visited and stayed in Bodrum, retired from music after 1980 and lived in seclusion in his Bodrum home.

The house where the artist lived from 1980, when he moved to Bodrum, until his death on September 24, 1996, was converted into a museum under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2000. This museum displays the artist's own Buick Regal brand car, letters from his fans, awards he received, and much more information, documents, and photographs about his life and works, as well as his fabulous stage clothes and personal belongings. Prof. Dr. Tankut Oktem, the State Artist, sculpted a bronze statue of Zeki Muren in front of this museum. Bodrum Zeki Muren Art Museum is one of the most popular places to visit in Bodrum.

During his time in Bodrum, Zeki Muren would walk down Cumhuriyet Street, also known as the bar street, every afternoon to greet his fans, chat with them, and have their photos taken...

Zeki Muren's appearance in the mornings with his famous yacht in Bardakci Bay was eagerly anticipated. Zeki Muren, who made a habit of swimming here, would spend time in the surrounding restaurants and cafes before returning home early in the evening...

Zeki Muren, who donated all of his assets to the Mehmetcik (Turkish Soldiers) Foundation and was buried in his hometown of Bursa, is remembered with large concerts in Bodrum on the anniversaries of his death and birth.
